Nugget T-Shirts

The girls and I dreamed of making "Nugget" t-shirts ever since the MECHE skits... "Wouldn't it be fun to wear them to the beach?" Swiftly agreement was reached that said "Nugget" t-shirts would be a group project. Any excuse to get together, right?

The week before the beach trip, we gathered at the Kincell home for the big moment... But how exactly does one print on a t-shirt? In my ignorance, I was planning to write free-handed on my t-shirt. Kiri, however, was more practical. And stencils were printed.
Step 1: Print stencils and cut the letters out.
Step 2: Pose for picture with your new stencil. (Check!)
Step 3: Secure stencil to t-shirt. (Scotch tape worked well.)
Step 4: Paint two coats of black paint over the letters.
Step 5: Wait 10 minutes and peel off stencil (This was done with much trepidation! ;)
Step 6: Wear aforementioned "nugget" t-shirts to the beach and take pictures. (Double Check!)
And lots of smiles for all.
What would a "nugget" t-shirt photo op be without a foot picture?
I love the background of this photo; my hair became entangled in Dee's clip... Memories!

Wannabe Hair

Confession: I can't french braid hair. Yes, it's true. Having no sisters, I didn't practice with other's hair... And I was always "too busy" with other activities to practice with my own. However, with the popularity of The Hunger Games movie, many of my friends are sporting Katniss' braid. And being somewhat fashion illiterate, I look to my friends for tips. So, I decided to try it.

Browsing a HG fan-site, I stumbled upon this hair website and her several Katinss-hair tutorials. With trepidation, I attempted her original Katniss braid. And after several fits and starts, I achieved this result:

While it's certainly NOT perfect, I was excited that I tried it and it worked! There is more practice in my future...

♫A Perfect Day♫

Everyone knows it is poor blogging etiquette to post twice in one day, and no self-respecting blogger would ever do it. Especially twice in two days. Well, I guess I've just proven I'm not a self-respecting blogger. Bummer. Busted. :O)

Today was so beautiful; it made me long for Spring. And I'm the girl who loves snow - loves the pretty winter scene... Yet, today, I could imagine this weather lasting forever! I couldn't resist taking pictures outside. And my trusty brother is a great camera-man.

Another Duck face?
Today was also a day to finish some projects, to spend time with my grandfather, to read Wodehouse, and to get my hair cut! At last. Whew, I needed it.

These are my random thoughts at the end of the day. Until tomorrow, my readers.
