The Intrepid Ball: Decor and Setup

At last! Ball pictures!
Preparing, decorating, and setting up for a ball may not sound like much fun...
But it is!
Tables, chairs, flower arrangements, candles, etc. With lots of smiles, laughter, and fellowship.
Convinced?
Isn't the decor lovely? I just adore it! Thanks Mrs. B!
And what would setup be without pictures?!
More on the theme later. Stay tuned!

♫Christmas Time is Here♫

The fact was today needed some Christmas cheer. After seeing the beautiful decorations at the kiddos' house, I started thinking of ways to get our family tree decorated sooner. Then it came to me; um, decorate your tree! Put out some happy snowmen! Yay!
And George *had* to help. She's nice like that... Of course, the random candy cane I found on the floor later had NOTHING to do with her enthusiasm. Tee hee hee. How is the decorating coming for y'all?
As much as I love Christmas decorations and the memories associated with them, the most wonderful gift is remembering why we celebrate Christmas day.

Luke 2:10,11
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold,
I bring you good news of  great joy which will be
for all the people; for today in the city of David
there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

A New Friend: Doris

Look what my good friend, Keely, made me. Isn't she cute?!
Who doesn't need a bookworm with which to decorate?
Given her retro 50's look, I had to name her Doris Day. :O) She now sits happily on my bookshelf.

@Keely, Thanks, friend! And I didn't mean to steal your post title. I guess we just "think alike!"

On the Topic of Bookshelves

Do you remember me blogging about bookshelves? They're back again. Aren't these awesome?! Apparently you can purchase them at Amazon. Of course, they seem to work better with hardback books... True bibliophiles unite!

In My Future Home

I love "X" style shelves

Bookshelves aren't just for books

In my future home, I see lots of books. Shelves upon shelves of them. Theology, economics, history, literature, science, fictional tales, and a host of other topics. All waiting and wanting to be read. Mmm. I close my eyes, and I can picture it.

Look at the ceiling in this one!
However, my decorating style is... in process? Eclectic? Different? I'm not quite sure myself. Hence, I use pictures as my inspiration.
Strange and Modern

And again
Curved shelves
Like "infinity"

More "X"
Wouldn't you love to have a library with ladders?
Odd, but loveable
Just Odd
And as I organize my room today, I attempt to make it pretty and home-y with books and bookshelves.
