The guests have arrived; we given out dance cards. What next?
"Gentlemen, get a partner!" Generally, we start with some opening remarks, however at the Assembly Ball, we began with the Grand March.

Hannah and Andrew |
And we were already having fun!
 |
Daddy |
With the Grand March finished, Daddy read a portion of Philippians 2 and reminded us of proper etiquette and decorum of an Old South Ball.
Listening with appropriate attention, we heard of practicing godly love towards one another - showing Christ to one another.
 |
Young Widow |
When a girl is not asked to dance, the next best option is taking pictures! And I also LOVE watching my Daddy dance. :O)

Young Widow: Right-hand star |
And watching other daddies dance with their daughters.
 |
Kiri and Andrew |
Between dances, while we move into formation, our happy, posed pictures were taken...
 |
Adrea and Mr. Welsh |
Remember me saying I adore seeing father/daughter couples? See above. :)
 |
Dee and Jake |
Getting ready for the Lancer's Quadrille.
 |
Kristi and Andrew |
The Lancer's Quadrille is composed of three sets and danced in a square formation.
 |
Mr. & Mrs. Lay |
It's also fun to see married couples on the floor.
 |
Maddie and Daniel |
Just when you thought everyone was prim and cheerful... (like Maddie and Daniel)
 |
Me and Evan |
Evan and I throw a monkey wrench into the mix. :P
 |
Lancer's Quadrille |
"The salute." Sheer awesomeness.
 |
Lancer's Quadrille cont. |
I found the above step tricky, but it was entertaining!
After all that dancing, you need a drink. I know I did.
Stay tuned...
